What Are You Voting For in Your Life?

Today is Election Day in the United States, a day when millions of people come together to make their voices heard by voting for the politicians and policies that align with their values.

2024 is being called the Ultimate Election Year, with elections happening in over 70 countries and nearly half of the world’s population participating in this powerful democratic process.

That's an extraordinary amount of voices being raised and choices being made.

But let’s pause and remember that we are voting every single day for the world we want to create and inhabit. Our votes are cast not just in the polling booth, but in our values, our actions, our prayers, and the energy we bring to each moment.

We cast votes in how we connect with our neighbors, how we treat the person at the register, how we answer a call, and what we share with others—whether in person or online.

Each conscious decision we make—from what we buy, to the brands we support, to the ways we travel—reflects a vote for the kind of world we wish to nurture.

With that spirit, I want to share what I'm voting for today: a vision beautifully expressed in Robert Holden’s poem, A New Kind of Politics. Full credit goes to Robert Holden and Hay House for this inspiring piece from his book, Finding Love Everywhere.

A New Kind of Politics

I’m voting for a new kind of politics.

Based not on opposition, but on imagination.

A politics with an international heart.

A climate change from fear to love.

With a defense budget for trees, and a Ministry for Bees.

A new flag for Planet Earth.

An end to debt economies.

No need for charities.

No third world.

Just one world.

Where leaders who dare to love the most always win the majority vote.

This poem is a powerful reminder that love is our highest form of politics, our collective purpose, and the mission we share on this planet.

Wishing you all peace and hope on this day, no matter your political beliefs.
